Celestia-Luna Coin -second run- by Akili-Amethyst Celestia-Luna Coin -second run- by Akili-Amethyst
The Second Run of the Celestia/Luna coins came in today!

I really want my own website to sell these on, but for now you can get them at my Etsy shop. [link]
More to come next weekend! Same place! Keep an eye out!

The text on the side says "Akili-Amethyst * 2013 * Friendship is Magic * 2013 *"
Pictured next to the Celestia/Luna Coin are a US Quarter, and a 1 Euro for size comparison.
The Celestia/Luna coins are (approximately) 2 inches in diameter and 3.5mm thick, weighing a hefty 2.2 oz.
They are made from brass, coated on one side with gold, and nickel on the other.

I think, technically, these are medallions.

I have no doubt though that Equestrian bits are this beautiful.

Would have been perfect if the Luna side was silver instead of nickel. (My guess is the thing is nickel coated and then one side gold on top of the nickel.)
Gold and silver are considered the elements of sun and moon.

It sucks what Hasbro is doing there. I mean, they can't just target ANY fan work. In my opinion these medallions are not detailed enough (meaning they should be sufficiently distanced from the original through artistic effort) to claim those are their original characters, and they have no protected brand names or anything like that.
Great way to remember fans that Hasbro is still first and foremost a profit-oriented business and thus a fear-based endeavor.

I know about the silver thing. If I could have got silver, I would have. Actually I could have, but ti would have had an antique finish instead of a high shine finish. I wanted it to be pretty.
