Nice BIG vector of Celestia as seen in my Sunrise/Moonrise design, only the lines are colorful.

I own nothing but this particular pose, so this is free to use, but please CREDIT ME if only so other artists can find this original source. Please also link me your piece so I can see what you did with it!

So how do you make these anyway?

Photoshop, pen tool. :)

Man, I've taken a class on Adobe Illustrator and the pen tool was murder. I mean, it wasn't as bad as using a stylus, but it was still a little tough to work with. You must have a lot of patience to work with something like that.

Believe it or not, it makes more sense in Photoshop. (To me at least.) There's a lot about vectors you can't do in Photoshop that you can in Illustrator, but the same can be said vice-versa.

That's another thing, what are vectors exactly? I'm such a n00b to this digital art thing. ^^;

Vectors are what you make with the pen tool, so long as you don't rasterize it. The best thing about vectors is that you can re-size the PSD file as big as you want, and the quality of the image won't go down. It won't pixelate or blur. Which makes a lot of my work a heck of a lot easier. It may be a bit painstaking to adjust each curve, but the reward is that if I need to change the size, I can with one click instead of making the image again from scratch.

How do you get it so DANG accurately? I'm almost sort of jealous...

A combination of copy/pasting a template together and tracing. I found this tutorial helpful when I first started with vectors: [link]
